    Dibash’s parents are originally from the hilly region of Nepal.  The landslide that occurred in 2017 washed away their house and took away their belongings.  With time and resources running out, Dibash’s father made the decision to migrate to Kalimpong, India where he would still be able to live among people belonging to his ethnicity in the hope that they would be able to help him find a job.     Risper Kamathi Mutethia is a bright child from a disadvantaged and poor family background. Her father, Josphat never got any inheritance from his parents. His mother gave birth to him while a teenager much earlier before her current marriage. Both his biological and step fathers disowned him and since then the young Josphat grew up with his old, ailing and poor grandmother. His current epileptic condition was diagnosed when he was a small boy but unfortunately his grandmother could not afford specialized medical attention.  It was hard for the old lady even to afford food and formal education for the young Josphat. As a lad, Josphat relocated to Nairobi in search of a livelihood some 15 years ago. He met his wife, Lucyline a few years later and started a family. Lucyline also from a poor background had her share of challenges but both have since lived together as husband and wife for the past 9 years. With their meager income, Josphat hardly get enough to buy medication for his epileptic condition and meet the rest of the family needs. He has to pay for his rented makeshift accommodation, buy food, and raise school fees for his children. To break the cycle of poverty, the family is determined to raise up their children in the way of the lord and give them the best of education possible.  it is their desire that uplift a child organization will lessen their burden if one or all of their children are considered for education sponsorship.

    Salitha Minyaka is a semi-orphan child from Minapai village.     Sambit and his two brothers are cared by their mother, ever since their father died of a road accident in the year 2010.  Most of the people in the Upper Kuttinga village are living below poverty line. Kuttinga is a rural tribal area; there are no nearby towns, where people can get regular job or decent paid jobs.  The main work of the villagers are to collect fire wood from the forest and sell it in the nearby town to earn income. The local village panchayat pays Rs.500 as monthly allowance to Sambit’s mother to care for her children; which is the only permanent source of income for the family.     Rajesh’s dream is to become a genuine Police Officer and serve the society, if granted the privilege of education.  His father was an alcoholic and died of liver related illness.  Mother passed away, few years later, due to Dengue and lack of medical attention.  At Present, both Rajesh and his brother are in Grandmother’s care.     More than 35 families live in Pandakapadar, which is a rural tribal village till now there no good road for communication.  The people living in this area are completed neglected by the government and not provided even with basic amenities. Though the villagers have approached the government several times, they always turned a deaf ear to their requests. People here live in starvation. Like many other children in their village, she too is an orphan. Father died of alcoholism and mother died of Malaria fever.  Sukanti and her sister lives with their grandparents.  Grandfather does some available jobs for their sustenance.  She has expressed her hearty desire to get educated and feel that only education can save them from this state of life Uplift a Child organization identified this child to be a worthy candidate to receive help for education and would highly recommend her for the same.  Her goal is to be become a good teacher.
